A tweet went out today linking 21-year-old (and 6’4″, 190 pound) Uruguayan center-back Yeferson Quintana to San Jose.
The tweet from Wilson Mendez makes it sound like the Uruguayan will be on loan for a year, with a million dollar option to buy. It also goes against a previous article which appeared in MLSSoccer.com which linked the same player with the New York Red Bulls.
If true, the Quakes may have found their “last puzzle piece” to the 2018 season already. Quintana helped lead his team Peñarol to the Uruguayan premier league title, and would certainly be a starter with San Jose. However, as with all trade rumors, take this one with a grain of salt until an official announcement has been made.
