The Orlando City Soccer Club visits Avaya for the first time tonight! The match features the return of Matias Perez Garcia after his inglorious exile in exchange for Darwin Ceren, and well-past-his-prime-but-was-once-a-FIFA-Player-of-the-Year Ricardo Kaka.
OCSC (6-3-1) sit in third in the East and should be a playoff team. The Quakes (4-4-3) sit in fifth in the West, shrouded in playoff uncertainty.
Line Up Predictions
After the Colorado debacle, don’t expect the fullback tandem of Kofi Sarkodie and Cordell Cato to feature in the starting XI, especially with a third match in less than a week at FC Dallas.
Other starters may be out as well, either to rest or audition other players. Marco Urena may start on the bench, as well as Darwin Ceren. Taking their places could be Simon Dawkins and Fatai Alahse, both of whom were season opening starters who found their way onto the bench. Flo Jungwirth might also need some rest as he’ll have his hands full versus FC Dallas, which could mean Andres Imperiale sees his first minutes of 2017.
The five players that are most likely to start are David Bingham, Victor Bernardez (who missed games versus Seattle, Dallas, and Houston), Anibal Godoy, Jahmir Hyka, and Chris Wondolowski. Expect the return of Nick Lima, possibly at left-back with Cordell Cato continuing at right-back.
Final Score Prediction
The Quakes will be looking for a bounce-back performance against Colorado, they play well at home, and Orlando City SC has lost three of four road matches. Expect a 2-0 Quakes win.
