Seattle Predictions

May 7, 2016

A down-and-dirty set of predictions for Quakes/Sounders match-up.

What I predict we will see: a diamond 4-4-2. Wynne on the right, Bernardez and Imperiale in the middle, and Shaun Francis on the left. Fatai will play the defensive mid as he’s the only one left, and I’m guessing Dom learned something with seeing Dawkins in the middle as CAM in Philly, so he’ll probably start MPG on the right with Tommy as a 75′ sub, Simon at mid, and Quintero on the left. I’m also predicting Innocent and Wondo start; you don’t start a player coming back from a hamstring injury on artificial turf. Dom is smart enough to know this, right? Innocent also scored last year in Seattle, so why not give him the start?

What I want to see: a diamond 4-4-2, but with Sarkodie geting the start at right-back and Wynne at center-back as Imperiale hasn’t impressed me much with his minutes and his penchant for going to the ground early and often. I also want to see Stewart get minutes, possibly as a starter with Francis ready at the half. I would love to see Shea get the start at left-wing as his “one move” (use his speed to beat the defender, send a cross to the six-yard box) have been very accurate and have produced way more chances than Quintero’s crosses that go 10 yards past their intended target.

Final Score Prediction: Seattle has looked bad without Obafemi Martins, but I do think Dempsey or Morris will score. The Quakes also have a tough time on the road, but love playing in Seattle as they won both last year, so I’m guessing we get two goals for a 2-1 final for our FIRST road win this season (it’s gotta happen sometime, right?). I’m predicting Dawkins gets an assist to Innocent (WHAT???), and MPG puts in a through-ball to Wondo for his 8th of the season.
