The Quakes signed Jamaican midfielder Simon Dawkins, a fixture in the 2012 Supporters’ Shield championship team. Dawkins had been playing in England for various clubs including Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Derby County.
Dawkins was on loan from Tottenham during his time here, but Tottenham requested a huge transfer fee for his services, which caused his departure from the team after the 2012 season. Fans will remember his tremendous dribbling and passing skills, and humongous work ethic. If he is able to rekindle that 2012 magic, the Quakes will be a formidable team with Wondo, Godoy, Innocent, Dawkins, Goodson, Wynne, and others.
The Quakes now have four DPs, and must find a way to bring it down to three before the start of the season. I would expect MPG to be released, or TAM to be used to buy down either Wondo or MPG’s contract to non-DP status.
Welcome back, Simon!
