Quakes Come Up Short in Frisco and Standings

October 25, 2015

In a must-win game, the Quakes came up short with a 2-1 loss to FC Dallas.

Quincy Amarikwa got the Quakes started off on the right foot with an early goal to put the Quakes up 1-0 at 13′, but Dallas got two back by Mauro Diaz at 37′ and Victor Ulloa at 79′ to win the affair 2-1.

With the loss, the Quakes had no chance of advancing to the playoffs.  Even with a win, Seattle, Portland, and Sporting KC all won their respective matches to clinch their spots in the playoffs.  Instead, it’s an early off-season for the team with playoff aspirations to begin the year.

The team carries high hopes for next year: Avaya is a great venue which will host the All Star Game next year.  Dom Kinnear seems to have found gold in Godoy, Fatai, and Quincy.  Wondo and Goodson still have a few good years left.  The addition of several key players–and the potential dropping of the dead-weight of other players–hopefully will pave the way for future glory in 2016.  See you in March, Quakes!
