LA Galaxy Post-Match Stats & Analysis

August 29, 2015

Apologies for taking so long; had a long weekend full of things to do!

The Quakes proved their previous three shut-out wins were no fluke as we beat the Gals 1-0 at Avaya.

Unlike DC, the Quakes were the better team as we held the edge on shots (17-12), passes (444-420), blocked shots (6-1), possession (51%-49%), corners (5-4), duels won (48-38), tackles (12-9), saves (4-3), and clearances (21-11).

Shea Salinas continues to show why he is a staple in the lineup (something I advocated for in the beginning of the season) as his lone goal was enough to be the game winner.

Clarence Goodson continues to shine as he has helped secure the Quakes’s fourth shut-out victory.  In fact, the Quakes have only allowed one goal in six matches.

Prior to the match, I did a bunch of interviews with Stevie G supporters, which you can listen to here.  A common theme is their admiration of Avaya.

Unfortunately I did not bring my camera’s memory card with my camera, so I did not get pictures of the game.  But Nap was able to get on-field shots of the game, which you can view here!

Next match: Saturday versus the Philly Union at Avaya.  See you there!
