FC Dallas Pre-Match

June 7, 2015

Apologies for being so late; I’ve been very busy this weekend running with my Quakes flag and kit around the SJ Giants stadium, getting a World Series replica ring, etc.  Just a quick down-and-dirty preview for today’s match.

FC Dallas

FC Dallas will be without two key players: Fabian Castillo (injured) and defender Zach Loyd (suspension).  Dallas’s leading goal scorer Blas Perez will play, along with 2014 MLS Rookie of the Year Tesho Akindele.  Also look out for Mauro Diaz to be setting up these two on the attack.  I’m expecting Dallas to use a 4-2-3-1 set with Perez up top.

This will be a rematch of the first game of the season in Dallas, in which the Quakes almost pulled off a draw on the road, but lost in stoppage time.  The Quakes will be without four key players: Innocent, Thompson, Alashe, and Renato.  Goodson is also injured, but I believe should start.  MPG is coming off injury, so hopefully he’s ready to go.

With so many people out, I doubt much will change from what we’ve been seeing.  I’m guessing a 4-1-4-1 with Jahn as the #9 forward.  I’m predicting Wondo will be at mid, along with MPG, Shea, and Nyassi.  Koval will start at DM without Alashe, and the backline will be the staple Wynne, Bernardez, Goodson, and Stewart.  Bingham will start at goal.

That said, I would love to see Nyassi on the bench on favor of Cato, Jahn on the bench with Wondo up top, and either Fucito or Khari at mid.

Final Score Prediction

Dallas is coming off two straight losses, one a sound 4-0 thrashing by SKC and another to Montreal, so I’m guessing they will come ready to play.  I also fear that MPG may be playing injured, and with Wondo as our only scoring threat, I doubt we’ll see much offense, unless Jahn can step up and start producing.  I also am not a Nyassi fan as he’s inconsistent, and hasn’t done much to help the offense, though he does have flashes of brilliance.

Final score prediction: 2-0 Dallas.  Prove me wrong, Quakes.  PLEASE!!
