La Liga Finals (Part 1)

I have been hoping to write a little about the league just south of our borders but without reliable access to watch games, it was a bit difficult to do this. Just recently I was able to acquire a good source to watch more LigaMX and I was able to catch the first leg of the final featuring Club Santos (8) from Torreon and Queretaro FC (6) from Queretaro.

Santos started the game off in fantastic form with Javier “Chuletita” Orozco scoring in tap in from a Djaniny Tavares cross into the six-yard box. Santos continued with their trademark disciplined hard press game.

Queretaro were able to create a few chances but Santos goalkeeper Argentine Agustin Marchesin was in top form. Queretaro’s best chance came from a free kick from Queretaro’s left. A Gallo Blanco was able to connect his head at the top of the six yard back to direct the ball into the top near corner but the Guerrero keeper was able to miraculously palm the ball over the ball.

In the end, the Guerreros from the Comarca Lagunera easily overcame the Gallos Blanco 5-0 off the feet from Orozco and Diego Gonzalez.

You can catch the second leg of the final on Sunday at 6:30pm PT on ESPN Deportes and Azteca America.
