You BETTER watch CONCACAF Champions Final

April 8, 2015

With the opponent still yet to be confirmed, L’Impact de Monreal did the improbable and ran the table to the CONCACAF Champions League final.

They finished last in MLS last season with a total of 28 points.  They are currently tied for last in MLS with two points.  LAST!  They were a fluke qualification from Canada, who just happened to win the Canadian series against both Toronto and Vancouver to represent Canada in CONCACAF.

This is an amazing feat.  They won their group, beat Mexican side Pochuca in the quarter finals, and just beat Costa Rican side Alajuelense both in aggregate fashion (the overall score was tied, but they advanced due to the away goals tiebreaker).

I don’t understand how they did it, but they did it, and EVERYONE that supports MLS should be behind them as they play for a potential CONCACAF Champion’s League trophy.  Bon Chance, MONREAL!!
